Between 'Nawaf' and incarceration… a freedom oath

….with tears of nostalgia :memories sways, thoughts collide and on your tongue thousands of stories pass not knowing their owners, you … tired – filled with sadness with every phone call …a mother wailing for an incarcerated son, her cries echo in your ears, an old man asking you for help with the agonizing procedures of the Central Committee of The Stateless Bedoon, a girl infuriated from a racist comments, a young man seeking a decent job…knocking your door after all doors closed to them, your enthusiasm had infiltrated the walls of persecution leading to a window of hope. Their hopes were on you, and you thirty years of age…don’t have any solutions for yourself or away out.How did you come out? Why did you come out? I don’t know. What have you lost? And what have you gained? Again, I don’t know, But I have been told:'Nawaf' refused to call another country his own to fill the void of citizenship, paying for that refusal dearly from his flesh and blood ..when his daughter left leaving him a stranger amongst his nearest and dearest. She won herself a country to loose a father’s closeness and affection, What about him?.... He won the stateless cause, got imprisoned, lost the warmth of his family. I have been told that every peaceful mean of protestations knows Nawaf and every road of righteousness and human rights became his companion ….The Secretary General of the Kuwaiti Stateless Bedoon Committee , started out as a volunteer and continues to do so till this day, the hopes of deprived generations lies upon him. 'Nawaf' filled his pockets with lawful yet impossible dreams in a country he adores,Just as in all fairy tales, he carried this heavy weight alone... slept in the wilderness by himself… and faced the people who let him down with a sure smile of a better forthcoming future. He held his ground, stayed firm and pure in the hazardous paths that are narrow and twisted carrying the burden still. After too many trials and pain that he withstood for the sake of this cause, to be called an inciter and to be thrown into prison! An innocent man behind the bars of percautional detention! which is now regarded as a regular detention for Bedoon.'Nawaf' is no superman nor is he a fleet leader to an army of criminals or mercenaries.'Nawaf' is an ordinary, young man, loves Kuwait; the country he calls his own, sacrifices for the cause he believes in, a community member, a voice in a legal humanitarian organization, Nawaf Al-Bader was us, and we stand with all faith and dignity representing 'Nawaf'.
